Daddy’s eyes don’t see, but he can still read to me.
In My Daddy Reads in the Dark, a young child embarks on daily adventures with her blind father. Their everyday experiences showcase the joy and comfort of their sweet bond. This heartwarming story celebrates the unique qualities that make us all special, fostering empathy and acceptance for people of all abilities.
Jennifer Jones, inspired by her own experiences growing up with a visually impaired parent, has crafted a touching tribute to her father that will resonate with other children in her shoes. With this book, she aims to create a world where kids feel comfortable with and accepting of those with disabilities by emphasizing the importance of showing kindness and respect to everyone.
Jennifer Jones is a retired high school English teacher who lives in Mount Airy, North Carolina (a.k.a. The Andy Griffith Show’s Mayberry), with her husband and their two dogs, Chilly and Charli. She is a proud mother of three grown sons and a daughter-in- law, whom she cherishes spending quality time with. Jennifer’s favorite genre to read is mystery, but children’s books have a special place in her heart. When she isn’t reading or writing, she enjoys playing VR and board games, watching movies, and cheering on the North Carolina Tar Heels basketball team.
