Waiting for a friend can feel like forever, but the right friend makes the wait worthwhile.

In A Friend for Ruby, Ruby the cat embarks on a quest to find a companion. Along the way, she encounters a cast of curious creatures, but none seem to fit the bill for the true friend she longs for. Just when Ruby starts to feel disheartened, her humans bring home Remi, a playful kitten, from the shelter. Ruby and Remi quickly become inseparable, sharing adventures and cozy moments gazing out the window together. Through their friendship, Ruby learns that sometimes the best friends are found when you least expect it.

Sheryl Resnick lives in Columbus, Georgia, with her husband, Peter, and their five cats. Originally from Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania, Sheryl enjoys spending time with her husband and her two grown children, Gabrielle and David. She also loves flowers, art, the beach, and a good book. Sheryl has a bachelor of science in nursing, a master of business administration, and a doctor of theology. Additionally, she is a veteran of the US Army Nurse Corps.  This book was inspired by the real-life experiences of Sheryl and Peter’s cat, Ruby, a Norwegian forest cat they adopted from a rescue organization. They thought her adventures were so unique that they were worth putting in print. A Friend for Ruby teaches children that you can find a true friend with a little patience and persistence.
