Lost and alone, a wild foal’s search for his mother becomes an adventure through the heart of the Currituck Outer Banks.
Little Lost Horse on the Currituck Banks tells the heartwarming story of Sam, a wild horse foal separated from his herd on the beautiful Currituck Outer Banks of North Carolina. When speeding trucks along the beach spook the herd, Sam finds himself lost and alone. His journey to reunite with his mother takes him on an exciting adventure through the unique landscape, encountering friendly local animals and discovering historical landmarks like the Currituck Beach Lighthouse and the Whalehead Club.
Along the way, Sam’s story subtly teaches children about the ecosystem of the Outer Banks, the importance of protecting wild horses from the dangers of cars on the adjacent sand highway, and the impact of human activity on this precious environment. This charming tale blends adventure with education, inspiring young readers to appreciate and respect the natural world around them.
