Q: What inspired the idea behind your book?
A: The Values Series was created with young readers in mind to teach them values we all use in life every day.
Q: As an author, what tips would you give anyone who wants to get into writing?
A: Persistence is key. Never give up!
Q: What is your favorite book?
A: The Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum. Follow the Yellow Brick Road!
Q: Was your main character modeled after anyone in your life?
A: The real Rosy Posy rescue dog from Papillon Haven Rescue and her adventures on my farm.
Q: What is your favorite part of the writing process?
A: Waiting—the patience required for inspiration to download, then a deep knowledge that it is right.
Q: Do you believe that being a “good writer” is a developed skill or a natural talent?
A: Neither. You write for yourself. Heal and learn what you find.
Q: Do you have a favorite book, poem, TV, or movie quote?
A: Anything written in any one of the books on this list. Keep moving forward, do the work, and train yourself.
Q: Would you write another book (or are you already writing another book)?
A: Yes, there are several in the works, including more Rosy Posy! All my books, published and in progress, are listed on my website.
Q: Is there an author you look up to, and why?
A: Anyone who writes a book has my respect.
Q: If there were an apocalypse and you could only take five books into your doomsday bunker, what would they be?
A: None—we would be too busy surviving and seeking food, water, safety, and community. Check out Maslow’s hierarchy of needs. Luxury free time comes with stability. As Aristotle said, “The end of labor is to gain leisure.”
