Written for kids and inspired by adults, Julie Golsteyn’s new children’s book highlights the importance of standing up for what’s right, even when it isn’t easy.

Julie Golsteyn, wife of former Green Beret Officer and U.S. war hero Matt Golsteyn, whom Trump pardoned for the killing of a Taliban bomb maker, is channeling the upheaval her family experienced into a valuable lesson for kids everywhere in her first children’s book, It Is Up To You.

When the weakness of others threw her family into a world of turmoil during the war crime allegations in 2018, Golsteyn was inspired to write a book conveying the significance of always acting with honor and integrity, including times when it may be easier to go along with the crowd. Golsteyn hopes to inspire children to find the courage to make difficult decisions head on in the face of adversity.

Written in rhyme, this story teaches young readers to advocate for the truth, especially when it's tempting to side with the majority. It celebrates a comprehensive collection of character traits that parents seek to instill in their children: being truthful, brave, courageous, patient, self-confident, and compassionate.

It IS Up To You is available for purchase on the Blue Balloon Books Bookstore.
